HELP CHANGE SOMEONE'S FUTURE
~ Give a gift that keeps on giving ~
As Christmas is coming, you might wonder how to give your friends or family a unique gift. YWAM Mercy Relief and Development in Vietnam can offer you such an opportunity. You can make a contribution on behalf of that person to support one of the projects below and we can send a Christmas card either on line or by post to your loved one describing how that contribution in their name will change someone's life.
YWAM is supporting three orphanages in Ba Vi. Lots of children there are living in poor conditions. Some of these children are orphans and others have parents who cannot properly care for them.
The aim of this project is to provide a safe, caring environment, including food, shelter and clothing for children in the most difficult circumstances until they are independent adults.
*Support a child at $55 US a month
* A one off donation of any amount you choose for clothing and shelter for children yet to receive sponsorships.
There are many families who are not able to pay for education fees and school supplies for their children. YWAM is providing education supplies for the poorest children in nine communes to allow them to continue their schooling.
With local partners, YWAM identifies the children with the greatest needs and provides textbooks, exercise books, schoolbags; and in some special cases, uniforms and other personal necessities.
* A gift of $25 will provide a child with what they need to continue in school for a year
YWAM helps schools to develop child friendly libraries. With the teachers input we buy books for both primary and secondary schools. The school prepares the room and funds a staff person, and we give furniture and training on how to create a friendly place to encourage reading.
* $10 will purchase 5 books for a library
*$100 will buy a book shelf or a table chair set
*$500 will buy a basic computer.
YWAM provides micro-loans to poor farmers so families can purchase chickens, ducks, pigs, etc and start a profitable business. The loans are then reimbursed so other families in the commune can then benefit from this process. Until now YWAM has delivered 2898 micro-loans with 100% fully paid back.
* A gift of $35 will give inputs for one rice crop including good quality seeds and fertiliser
*A gift of $45 will enable a family to plant pineapples
*A gift of $40 will buy a pig and a further $ 85 will provide food and vaccinations for the pig
*$50 will purchase 100 chicks or ducks and a further $50 will provide the vaccinations
All these gifts will be given to another family every three months when the loan is repaid
The cow bank
This "bank" provides the loan of a cow which is quite an expensive purchase. When the cow has her first calf, the calf is returned to the project and given to another poor family.
The family is also trained in how to care for the cow in every stage of it's development. This helps families build a herd for the future.
* The price of cows fluctuates according to the market. The current price of a 10 month old cow is $700
You could give a whole cow or contribute with an amount of your choice towards a cow
