PROJECTS IN BAC GIANG

Training On Cultivation Techniques

Pineapple, which is a local specialty in Bao Son, brings high profit and helps poor households achieve sustainable economic development. Local people are in the process of determining a brand name for this plant. Our consultant has guided people in cultivating skills and avoiding pineapple disease.

Workshops on Gender Balance and Family Violence

Gender imbalance and family violence are still a worrying problem in many rural areas as it tends to continue generation to generation. In our rural integrated development projects, we organized workshops to address these topics. Hopefully, through such events, parents will consider the future of their children and change behaviors leading to gender imbalance and violence in their families.

Production Team Activities

The third round of  loan dispersement just took place for production teams in Kham Lang production. Many poor households received loans which is helping them jump-start an increase in their family incomes.

The Cow Bank

Currently, the number of cows in Bao Son's cow bank has doubled. All over there are now one hundred and sixteen cows in the three communes. The project has helped to improve the life of poor households.

HOAI DUC SMALL & MEDIUM ENTERPRISES PROJECT

Business Visits

During recent business visits, many business owners demonstrated successful application of trained concepts and tools as well as sharing about their current challenges. Several business owners are willing to share the lessons they learnt with the business networks, to help with  awareness raising.

Production Optimization and Workplace Safety

We helped implement production optimization for a developing food business by demonstrating techniques and methods to increase employee participation, promoting a safe working environment and increased productivity.

We also visited two business to help identify potential workplace safety issues and opportunities for improvement.

Hoai Duc SME Project for the next phase

The District Board of Management and representatives of various departmentshad  several meetings to discuss goals and plans for the next  phase of the  SME project. The success of Phase II will require the efforts of all related departments in implementing the activities.

On 20th December, we signed an agreement with Hoai Duc district representatives, that will provide the legal framework for our continued involvement in SME in Hoai Duc. Both YWAM and local leaders will make further efforts to help business owners and their management teams be more successful therefore create more jobs for local people.

Opening Ceremony of Dai Tu’s Industrial Road

A new industrial roadway now serves dozens of safe manufacturing companies in Dai Tu, one hamlet in Kim Chung, Hoai Duc. YWAM contributed to this by providing  construction consultation and  supervision.  We are thrilled that business owners cooperated with each other to solve this major transportation problem. Our director was an honored guest at the road opening ceremony.

PROJECTS IN VAN CON COMMUNE

Training on Household Economic Development

Many poor households still wonder how to overcome  poverty and generate sustainable family income. We held a training course giving tools and know-how to manage and improve their income generating activities. Being confident, innovative and proactive in learning, are ways which will help households to increase their wealth.

PROJECTS IN CAT QUE COMMUNE

After transferring the project to the local people for their continued management, we paid a follow up visit to some beneficiary  households who received loans from the project. Now these households are an example of those who do business well and are active in learning more about investing.

Mrs Hoan decided to raise 700 chickens at Tet (New Year) time for better profit.
Mrs Nga has changed in her business mindset by raising more 65 pigs.

CHILDREN’S HOMES
Christmas Party

After several days of practicing songs, dances and skits, the Children's Homes Christmas Party was held, creating  joy for all the children. Receiving Christmas gifts was a highlight.

Charity Concert

A charity concert organized by Hanoi International Fellowship was a good chance to introduce ourselves and share about the Children’s Home activities.

New Blankets and Pillows

This month the children received a warm and meaningful Christmas gift in the form of new blankets and pillows. This was very meaningful as Thien, who was raised in the home and is now successful in his life, wanted to give back by contributing  twenty-two pillows for the children.

BIOGAS IN BA TRAI COMMUNE

Since early this year, the project has transferred loans two times to local beneficiaries.  In recent months, we visited and surveyed households for the third round of loans. This is one of the beneficiaries using biogas to power her tea drying kiln.
